The satellites measure almost four metres in length and have a mass of around 150 kilograms. Sateliot describes the new platforms as an advancement in capability due to increased payload capacity. They will extend the operator’ s services from IoT devices to mobile phones, supporting data, voice and video. The platforms further include dual-use features intended for security, civil protection and defence applications.
Jaume says the Sateliot follows“ a clear course marked by 3GPP standards, full integration with mobile operators, global coverage and services that work seamlessly whether in the port of Rotterdam, the Pyrenees, or the middle of the Atlantic – and most importantly, in real time”.
