The core vulnerability that enables these attacks is the fallibility of passwords. It allows telcos to leverage one of their most unique and powerful assets: the SIM card. By offering robust, SIM-based mobile identity and authentication services, telcos can provide a far more secure alternative to traditional login methods, directly solving a critical customer pain point. An attacker can compromise a password from anywhere in the world, but it is far more difficult to compromise a physical device.
