Oxylabs suggests that removing fact checkers or regulations in this way could create an era of misinformation.
Vaidotas Šedys, Chief Risk Officer at Oxylabs, states that Facebook, Instagram and Threads users could face an increase in unfiltered content and will struggle to determine what is real or fake- a concern that is only being exacerbated by the continued growth of AI technologies online.

Public concerns of wild spreads of disinformation bombing the users of Meta’ s social media platforms might act as an invitation to troll farms to test the new boundaries,” suggests Vaidotas.“ The transition period will be precarious, requiring a heightened level of caution from users, policymakers and Meta itself.
